Denmark has got some of the purest drinking water in the world and is ready to drink out of the tap. Bring a refillable bottle and save your money – and the environment.
Bring your Bicycle
Denmark is a bicycle nation and Aarhus especially so. Car parking in Aarhus and on venue is very limited and car travel is very slow so the preferred means of transportation by the locals is by bicycle all year around.
Parking at venue
Parking on Venue is very limited, and you can only park your car if you have a permit – Your MNA has a limited number of parking spots (allocated according to team size).
The parking permissions can be bought in the Race Office. The cost is EUR 75/per permission.
The MNA decides which sailor/support staff are entitled to a parking spot.
Aarhus public transport
There is a very strong public transport network in Aarhus. Your accreditation card serves as a free travel pass (within Aarhus city circle – Yellow busses + the tramp called “Letbanen”).
The free transport is valid from 30st July to 12thAugust– This applies for all competitors and support staff with valid accreditation. For further information on routes and time tables see https://www.midttrafik.dk/english/.
Denmark has good and secure banking facilities and ATM’s are widely available. Almost all shops and all taxis accept major credit cards such as Visa and MasterCard.
