400,000 visitors…

That’s the number we expect to attract to Aarhus during the Worlds.

As you probably already know, there are many reasons for people to come to Aarhus in August. Not only will we have great sailing, we will also host a huge maritime festival that will offer unique experiences to people of all ages.

Last year, we began communicating more and more about the Worlds, and we are getting ready to change gears. At this point, our messages have reached most people in Denmark who move in the sailing circles. Our next step is to reach everyone who would like to find something interesting to do for a few weeks (or days) this summer.

We have now created the official event on Facebook, and we would love for you to join.

If you would like to share the event – which you are more than welcome to do – here’s the link: https://www.facebook.com/events/186190271883754/

Today, we would also like you to meet our brand new mascot: The sailfish.
We don’t have a name for it yet, but we count on getting help from our Danish Facebook community in the near future.

Here, you can see a drawing to get an idea of what it’s going to look like:

Our new mascot will join our event team and participate in various events in Aarhus during spring and summer.

During this period of time, we will continue to spread the stories about Aarhus2018 in our own, local, national and international media. We will advertise in relevant media and be visible in Aarhus. We will be collaboration with Aarhus City, Visit Aarhus, Visit Denmark, newspapers, public transport, cafés, libraries, shopping centres, attractions and hotels among others.

Furthermore, we will exhibit some of the olympic boats around the city – but more about that some other time.

Best regards,
Cathrine Bianca Christensen
