I’ve been looking forward to sharing this news with you, as it’s an important piece of the puzzle that is now in place. More than 1,500 sailors from up to 100 different countries will be in Aarhus at the same time, and logistics play an essential part of that.

Personally, I’m very happy with the partnership. Blue Water Shipping is a strong and loyal partner that has a lot of experience in this field. Furthermore, they know Aarhus very well, and have great connections to the city’s business community and cultural life.

The sailors can get the following things taken care of before and during the event:

  • Shipping of equipment from all over the world
  • Reception of containers
  • Handling of local customs authorities
  • Transportation from and to the venue
  • Reception and delivery of shipments during the event
  • Storage
  • Courier service.

Blue Water Shipping will be present during the event at the official Race Office. Sailors can apply here to get shipments delivered, order courier services and to get answers to all questions regarding shipping.

The World Championships is a challenging job when it comes to the logistics – especially due to the short time span in which everything must run smoothly. It’s really great for us to know that we’ve found a strong partner that has more than 40 years of experience in the field.

On the 5th of November, I’ll be going to Mexico together with a few colleagues. We’ll be attending World Sailing’s annual conference for the Member National Authorities. It’s a perfect opportunity for us to let the MNAs know who they can contact next summer when they need to ship boats and equipment to Aarhus.

I’m looking forward to the collaboration.
