With less than two months to Aarhus Sailing Week in Egaa Marina – the test event before the Sailing World Championships in 2018, we are approaching the deadline for registration. Each Nation have the right to send at least one sailor per class. At present time, 50 nations signed up for the event. It means more than 300 boats are coming to Egaa Marina and all of the ten Olympic boat classes are represented.
In size and extent, the event will resemble a World Cup but besides the actual settlement of the event, it’s also a chance for the Aarhus 2018-organisation to test the organization around the volunteers and the sporting part to be better prepared for the championships in 2018.
The Schedule for Aarhus Sailing Week is spread over one week in August, more specifically from August 6th to 13th, 2017. Inspection of equipement and registration of the sailors are planned from Sunday the 6th and Monday the 7th.
The sailors will be racing from Tuesday to Sunday the 13th. The medal races will be Saturday and Sunday.
The racing will be on five race courses and the teams managing the courses are: KDY, Hellerup-Vallensbæk, Egaa, Kaløvig, Aarhus Sailing Club together with Bugten and Marselisborg.
Regarding the volunteers for Aarhus Sailing Week we are going to hold a kick-off meeting on June 29th in Dokk1s “Store Sal” at 7pm. Do you want to become a volunteer, please sign up here.
